If a character is named John, there is a 97% chance I’m gonna want to throw him off a bridge
now that sag-aftra has joined the strike, the increase in cold-ass takes has skyrocketed about “why should we support millionaires whining about not making money??”. like my man. my guy. the actors well-paid enough to have name recognition are striking to protect their colleagues. that very name recognition is what the average person is going to notice. they probably won’t care that ‘woman who plays every dead body in police procedurals’ is striking, but someone like emily blunt? that’ll get their attention. besides, would you rather they just… not support their colleagues? because at this point you’re basically saying you’d prefer if they scab than support their colleagues who can’t make a living wage despite both groups being talented professionals who deserve respect. name recognition is a powerful tool for sag-aftra and i hope they wield it with scalpel-like precision against the execs
clueless1995 asked:
nobody asked for my opinion but i think stiles singlehandedly revealed that santa wasn’t real to every child in his class as a kid. and i think he did it maliciously too. you stole his pencil? santa isn’t real. you kicked scott’s chair? santa isn’t real. the true implication of this is that scott is the last kid in his class to find out
wellwaterhysteria answered:
okay well first of all I’M always asking for your opinion so jot that one down. secondable of all i can’t remember if i’ve said this Out Loud (on tumblr) before but it is my firm and unshakeable belief that stiles figured out santa wasn’t real a bit too early (naturally suspicious and prone to squinting at things until they reveal themselves). like Why does santa have the same handwriting as mom. Why is that. The public has to know that Santa Isn’t Real. and he saves the little “by the ways” like he’s low on ammo. someone complains that scott reads out loud too slowly. guess what that kid’s finding out at recess. you’re not getting that mountain bike because santa Was Never Here To Begin With And Also You Were A Mistake Probably. stiles also recently found out how Babies Happen so it’s a real double whammy. anyway stiles is very DETERMINED to preserve the rosy sheen that colours scott mccall’s life. scott mccall is like one of those movies where a young child befriends a wild creature of some sort and they have like a deep and unbreakable bond. and all the adults just don’t understand and they think it’s dangerous to spend so much time trying to tame this thing that could kill you. but scott is patient (horsegirl energy btw) and loving and. most importantly. just as much of a fucking weirdo as his Wild Animal Friend. they are kindred spirits. scott finds out santa isn’t real when he’s ten maybe eleven.
whispering “no” while reading a book because you know that the character's about to make a fool out of themselves and kill you with second hand embarrassment
muting the TV and covering your eyes when the same thing happens on screen, and then curling into a ball so you can look at your knees till it’s over
Hitting the pause button or putting the book down so you can walk the secondhand embarrassment off before you get to the worst part
If you wouldn't go to someone for advice, don't take their criticism either.
Wait whoa
op woke up and chose logic today and idk how i feel about that

Y'all sorry for not clearing it up in the original post (frankly I thought more people would read the link) but this applies to influencers, professional cosplayers, content creators, and the like. Basically, people who make money off cosplays or otherwise promoting the
There is an official FAQ on the SAG-AFTRA site that details it better than the email (which came out probably right after the email did, hence why I missed it. I'd have just posted that link if I'd seen it).
Please be aware that although this strike might be of great inconvenience to you, that's the point. This isn't convenient for anyone. This isn't easy for anyone. That's the point. Between WGA and SAG-AFTRA, thousands and thousands of people are not working, and it's going to keep being like that until AMPTP wakes up and pays these people their fair share. Rather than complain, find ways to support the strikers (the link's final question offers ways influencers can support the strike, although frankly some of their suggestions aren't limited to just influencers).
